We booked the cooking class with Andres since the place where it takes place was a few minutes drive from our hotel in Barranco. The cooking class was held at Andres's restaurant, which is very close to the beach and is also very beautiful inside and out. Andres is a self-taught cook who has invented many recipes and other recipes acquired from his parents. What we learned to cook was Lomo Saltado, Ceviche and we also made the most famous drink in Peru (Pisco sour).the class lasted about 3 hours and we had a great time.

He would start by creating the meal or drink first, then he would give you the opportunity to create your own version of the same dish. For the ceviche dish, I created a sweet/spicy version and my wife created one with an Asian flair. This ceviche was the best we have ever tasted.
For the Lomo saltado dishes, we were able to go into the chefs kitchen and cook with lots of fire which is what we learned is how to get the perfectly seared meat for maximum flavor.
This experience was a great way to taste local staple cuisines, and we will be recommending it to our family and friends.
