Jeff Wayne's The War of The Worlds: The Immersive Experience Ticket

Just visited the Gunpowder Plot in London. Really excited to go having recently experienced the War of the Worlds immersive experience.
Staff were friendly and welcoming and advised us straight away that there was a delay with our start time. After signing the waiver and putting bags away, we made our way to the bar. Service was quick and soon struck up conversations with fellow guests waiting to go in. I did read reviews before arriving and was quite worried as many of them had been negative, so decided to go in with low expectations but an open mind.
There were issues with the vr headsets at times, losing signal, audio out of sync with visuals and background noises dominating the audio so it was difficult to hear the actors. However the live actors were great. Loved dressing up in the cloaks, inner superhero came out.
If this is your first immersive experience you'll probably quite enjoy it. If you have been to the War of the Worlds, which was amazing, its a hard act to follow.

Myself and my family had such a good time at War of the Worlds I was more than happy to pay for tickets for this next experience but this should be avoided as it is no more than a rip off. Bar has no atmosphere in comparison to the WOTW bar and when ordering some food the cutlery came with an open packet of mayonnaise on them. Great start. The experience itself is incredibly underwhelming, cringey and boring. The VR scenes are glitchy and don't offer much and the rest of the scenes are fairly unmemorable as you are rushed in a room "with haste" and told be quiet as they spoon fed you exposition over and over again. Far beneath the War of the Worlds experience. We skipped the cringey photos (it's fine, we know that's the cringey part and not for everyone) and of course the lockers didn't work. If I had to say anything positive it's that the music was quite fun to listen to whilst the actors were obviously trying to stall us because the room ahead wasn't yet free. Absolutely gutted that I travelled into London and booked a hotel for this experience. If this is the direction high-price immersive experiences are going then it's just another touristy fad, such a shame.

The best thing I have ever done from start to finish the vr is amazing I was actually screaming in the church (I am 61) you must go and do this

Absolutely amazing from the time we walked in the door. The staff in the bar and entrance were wonderful. Service was amazing. The food was hot, and so tasty. And all that was before we went into the experience. WOW what a show

We were really looking forward to this show, but I do strongly advise that children in your party are at the very least 10 years old, i thought our 7 year old was going to enjoy it, BUT some parts are really quite scary for kids (and some adults). We will rebook again. The team there were really supportive and looked after us well when we had to leave 20 minuits in due to scary dark scene.

Excellent experience, very good actors interacting with you along the way, lots of virtual action with the headset goggles , smells and smoke, great music to accompany it all. Your in groups of up to 12 travelling through the building , all looks like it’s 1904 with the Martians attacking the earth, it’s a tad expensive but if you want a great two hours in london this is the place.

Thrilling experience for WOTW lovers. Involved from the very beginning with this immersive experience. Enjoyable food and drink before the experience plus a half time drink in the Red Weed bar. Top night entertainment, thoroughly recommend. Will go again.

Fun, entertaining totally immersive experience! From the minute you walk in to the minute you leave you are immersed. The decor and attention to detail is great. The food and drink was excellent and the staff lovely. The show was brilliant.. no spoilers but we all loved it! The actors were first class. A great afternoon thank you!!

Excellent experience with a good mix of real actors, digital projections and virtual reality. My wife’s VR failed to work once but apart from that really good.

Really good fun, acting was top drawer and the immersive experience was very good. It must of had a lot of money spent on making the sets and tech.

Highly original, fun, exciting and scary experience. My partner and I both loved it. Lots of different interactive media, with great actors and an original and stylish bar. The whole event is so unique and well thought out. Would definitely recommend it.

A brilliant, creative, original experience well executed. Can highly recommend including the well earned cocktails at the end.

Myself and the family attended yesterday (4th June) and were not sure what to expect but I have to say I was completely blown away by the experience. From the moment you enter the staff are friendly and helpful. Once you enter the experience the actors are excellent and you have the opportunity to interact with them and really feel part of the story. The VR is excellent and you really feel as though you are on the journey. Both my partner and daughter did know the story that well but it did not matter and were able to follow the story and enjoyed the experience. Absolutely great production.

Absolutely loved this event. From the professional young actors to the virtual reality experience. Was brilliant from start to finish. Defintely not suitable for anyone with ,mobility issues as you have to go down a very tight staircase and down a slide. But we loved it and would love to go again. The only draw back, no gift shop, which is strange as they would definitely make money on it. They seem to rely on making money from the bar and photos at the end.

We've just had the most amazing afternoon with you - didn't quite know what to expect but we had so much fun!
Special mentions to Catherine and Lewis at the front desk, communicating with the cast as 2 of our party were 'older ladies' in their 70's and may find some parts challenging. We'd definitely recommend! 🤩
