Old City Cemetery

1 hour 30 minutes

Old City Cemetery in Galveston is over 200 years old and is said to be one of the most unnerving sites in Texas. In that time, the cemetery has become the resting place for a menagerie of souls who bring a touch of mischief, mystique and the macabre to the island’s haunted history. You will meet “The Lady In Black” who will uncover the mysteries at the heart of Texas’ more unsettling stories.

Well, I wasn’t going to leave a review, because I didn’t have anything nice to say, but after seeing The owner comment on Darrell’s review thinking it was my group, I had to. We showed up on time, 2 women and 3 children, it is not the nicest neighborhood with a liquor store across the street.

8:03 I called tour company because guide was not there. Owner told me guide was there talking to 5 people on tour. The 5 people were in my car. So lied to me. Told me it only works if I get out of my car. 2 women and 3 children in shady area. No thanks

Guide finally did show up and was very angry because owner sent him numerous angry texts to get to the F***ing tour spot. Guide showed us these

Guide was new to area, 2 months, and made comment that he was suppose to be in strand tonight because that is where he makes his money. These are things that shouldn’t be said on a tour like this

Tour could be good it they work out kinks and make people feel secure in unsecured surroundings

Disappointed. We took this tour last year and the tour guide was informative and entertaining. Gave a lot of history of the families buried there. She also explained the symbolism behind the markings on various tombstones. Our grandkids were visiting so I thought they may enjoy it. Jake was ill prepared and read from his phone. I told more stories about families buried there than he did. I booked this tour because it had advertised the Lady in Black. If I had known she was not doing the tour, I would have cancelled. The reason for 3 stars the grandkids were entertained. Other than that, was very disappointing and a waste of 80.00.

Love adventures like this and wasn’t disappointed! Lady In Black was rich with Galveston’s fascinating and tragic history.
Take lots of photos and closely examine them later. One of the “Live” shots I took was unremarkable to look at but the audio was chilling. Clearly a man speaking German and 2 children saying their names. Also captured multiple orbs and a man’s face looking out from inside a mausoleum. Yes, attaching all.
